System integrator Navicon is now among largest IT companies in the Russian BI market according to «Business Intelligence and Big Data 2016» rating of Tadviser industrial portal. The company has entered the top 10 for BI market players based on revenue and the top 20 based on the quantity of projects.
In 2016 the company’s expertise has improved even further as its product range and sectoral expertise expanded, and new projects were carried out. In 2016 Navicon launched a new business line – a line of predictive analytics and optimization planning; began to implement a cloud analytical solution IBM Planning Analytics; developed a cloud-based version of its own solution Navicon SalesOut (the analysis of secondary sales); became a partner of Tableau (an analytic solutions' developer and one of the leaders of Gartner Magic Quadrant in BI field). One of the major projects for Navicon in 2016 was a large-scale implementation of corporate reporting analysis system for the Russian subsidiary of Heineken brewing concern. Among other projects there were the automation of management accounting system in Rigla pharmacy chain, analytical projects for pharmaceutical manufacturers (Canonpharma Production, Gedeon Richter), etc.
According to Tadviser analysts, Russian BI market keeps growing, along with the number of various information systems used by customers and the amount of data processed by them. The major users of BI solutions are the highly competitive sectors such as retail, telecom, banks, and manufacturing. Other major trends observed by Tadviser experts include the share of BI domestic systems increasing, medium-size firms showing interest in BI, the open source tools developing and the number of requests from state customers growing.
