System integration and IT development company, Navicon, has transitioned to a new version of the ERP system at Simple Group, one of the leading players importing wine, spirits, and soft drinks in Russia. Twenty-three functional areas were transferred from MS Dynamics NAV 2009 to MS Dynamics 365 Business Central. As a result of the project, the productivity of the Simple Group ERP solution increased 3-4 times, while the speed of loading data from other systems increased by 30%. The transition project took 15 months to complete.
The work included vital processes such as assortment management, warehouse operations, stocks, supply chain, budgeting and master data. The new system also made it possible to calculate KPIs for employees and conduct mutual settlements with suppliers and customers. An essential task of the implementation was to preserve the previously made investments - successfully converting them into licenses for the new ERP system. We also managed to transfer the unique improvements of the Simple Group team, including accounting per item, product planning and automatic stock calculation.
The project mainly was implemented remotely. The final stages - testing, launching, and debugging the system - were done during the period of self-isolation. Despite the difficult work conditions, Navicon launched the IT solution on time. By the end of the first month, the speed of the ERP system was brought to the target figures. In total, more than 200 professionals worked on the Simple Group project.
